I worked in Ponape’s WSZD station as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1967-1969, along with local Ponapeans Elias Thomas, Kodaro Gallen, Bilamon George, Dusty Frederick and others.
Memorable times and the unique experience of a lifetime, but sadly also the place where, monitoring Voice of America, I first heard, in the repugnant year of 1968, of the deaths of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and Bobby Kennedy.
