Radio Hauraki 40th Anniversary Broadcast
2006 marked the 40th anniversary of the launch of Radio Hauraki, then a pirate station broadcasting from the waters of the Hauraki Gulf, near Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand.
In November of 2006 the modern-day land-based Radio Hauraki in Auckland aired an 8 hour “special” to mark the anniversary.
At the time the station donated a CD containing this broadcast to us as studio-quality MP3 recordings in hour-long chunks. We have now loaded these onto our website.
The Radio Heritage Foundation supported the 40th anniversary celebrations of pirate Radio Hauraki in 2006 and you can read more here:
